High Priestess Tarot Triptych

Three panels. One archetype. A meditation on intuition, mystery, and the space between worlds — rendered in six hardwoods by hand.

Inspired by the High Priestess card of the Major Arcana, this triptych translates tarot's most enigmatic figure into the ancient craft of wood marquetry. Each panel is a distinct scene, yet together they form a unified visual narrative — the kind of piece that rewards a long look.

The three panels:

• The Star Bearer — a crouching figure pours water beneath a constellation of eight-pointed stars, echoing the card's themes of flow and the subconscious.
• The High Priestess — enthroned between two pillars, cross at her chest, crescent at her feet. The central panel and the heart of the work.
• The Moonscape — a blood moon rises over a desert landscape; a scorpion and two wolves hold vigil. The shadow side of knowing.

Materials. Six tonally different hardwoods — cherry, walnut, sapele, maple, aromatic cedar, and Baltic birch — precisely laser-cut and inlaid by hand onto a solid wood substrate. Finished with Odie's Oil, a non-toxic hardwax that deepens the grain and lasts for generations.

Care. Wipe clean with a soft dry cloth. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and high humidity. A light re-oil every year or two with any food-safe wood conditioner will keep the grain lively.
